Arrivals & Departures App Reviews
Nice application, especially for the price. A lot of flight travel information that can be quickly accessed at one site. Technical support is very good; responded on a Sunday. The only feature missing in the current version is the ability to sort by Airline or From/To. However, it was implied that this would be added in the next update.
Picking a friend up from the airport and playing with my new apps... Found her flight info using the FlightBoard and FlightTrack apps on my iphone right away, however when I try to find the same flights info with this app it doesnt seem to exhist... Her flight is inbound as I type this and yet no info available...
There are several things that that app lacks. It is a good app...but you can get the same thing for free on the internet. Things that need to be fixed... 1. Changing from Arrivals to Departures should NOT change the aspect of the map. If you have a zoom level set, IT SHOULD STAY there...rather than zooming back out. 2. Make the plane icons smaller...there is no reason for them to take up all that space. 3. Have the ability to turn off the fake route line...those are NOT the routes the planes are flying...other free sites actually map the routes using the flight plans filed. 4. Auto-update...or the ability to change the update timer. It is nice for a first pass...but I can get much more for free at sites on the internet...with near real time radar returns.
Great App-Great Design
Very useful! Love graphics and it works great!
Nice application. I would suggest making it easier to distingush between domestic and international airports. Terminal numbers if possible would be great too. For some airports I looked up I could only see domestic flights.
sitting at the gate in ft lauderdale.. 40 minutes before departure... this app only shows 3 flights leaving ft lauderdale. and not mine... Im meeting someone that is departing Detrot about the same time... Detroit shows no flights... not sure what the problem is.. but it isnt working as expected..
RIPPOFF
my son is enroute from dehli airport. this app doesnt show it. two words ( IT STINKS ) Do yourself a favor DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY>
Nothing to complain, except it does not support Lion. But I cant camplain because official release of Lion is not out yet. It does exactly what it says. You can see any airport in the World. 4.99 for it I think is a little overprices, since you can get all the information for Free at FlightStatus com. However, design is beautiful, simple, and super easy to use.
Crap!
Crap! This is not like flight track pro. I dont know what the heck this is except a waste of time and money. Stay away.

Does not have all the airlines. I tried to find United Airlines with a flight from Houston to Atlanta. The airline and flight did not show.
Has some nice features like clicking on a flight to get more info, or the map that shows from where flights are coming or going to. But there are major annoyances too. For example, the app only shows a few pre-defined ranges of time, each spanning only 3 or so hours -- Id much rather view definable ranges of times. And as soon as a new days starts (i.e at 00:00:01) you can no lonnger see the previous days flights so if a flight was delayed you cant even find it anymore! Argh... really silly! Would also like to be able to allocate more or less space to the map and see codeshare status. Pinnacle Air or Colgan Air means little when youre looking for a DL or UA flight.
To begin the application is a little awkward. Once you select an airport, you filter the list of flights further using multiple criteria. I began by typing the name of my airline (in this case US AIrlines) and waited for my flight to show up in the list. It never showed and I was left wondering why. The refresh was very slow, so at first I wasnt sure if my listing was not going to come up or if it was simply in the queue and waiting for the refresh to complete. After I was certain that the app was displaying all flights that it could find, I wondered why my flight wasnt there. Then I noticed a small pull-down menu button at the bottom of the window. It contained a list of time frames. Turns out you have to select a time frame. After I selected the right time frame, and a little more waiting for the list to refresh, my flight showed up. The app displays good throough information about a flight, but its a little slow and awkward. Another minor annoyance is that if you have a trip that includes multiple flight segments, you might want to view them all together or at least have them show up in a list all at once so you can click through them to see if gates are close together, etc. But you cant really do that. You have to start over and filter the list (pick the airport, pick the timeframe, pick the airline) and all the while completely overwrite the display. Which means you have to write down the details of each segment because theres no way to view them on the screen together. The app works. But it could be much better. All and in all Id say stick with a free flight tracker until this one gets a little better.
Please fix the maps!!!
I like the app but the only thing that is off is the maps. It doesnt work as shown. PLEASE FIX!!!! Thanks.
Although the interface and concept are quite nice, I cannot recommend this app as it is simply too buggy and not well enough maintained. As an example, the app does not show you the whole day’s schedule, but only in 3 hour blocks, which is acceptable. However, you change time blocks by using a pop-up menu that now no longer works since I upgraded to 10.10 for some reason. This type of problem has happened too often. I’m looking for a replacement app.
